Development 101

Gary and I took Lydia to the high risk development clinic at the hospital today. In truth, it was rather uneventful! The most exciting part was finding out that she is 16 1/2 lbs, 25 1/2 inches long, and I don't remember what size her head was - needless to say she's probably on target for having a bau-shaped head like her parents!
The neonatologist was pleased with her progress - she seems to be on track for her 6 months adjusted age. The early interventionist also did her 6 month evaluation the other week so it wasn't anything we didn't already know. The early interventionist said the main things she's behind on right now are being able to sit up, roll around and all of that business, which we think has improved just in the past couple of weeks, and her communication - making sounds vowel and consonant sounds. This has also started happening in the past week or so...she's been a lot more vocal, I even have proof in this post!
Here's the little bee having fun with her Daddy. Well, she was supposed to be sleeping, but was far too happy and playful to be going to bed just yet. I got a few cute shots before she decided to calm down and go to bed for the night.
Did I tell you that Gary is scared of the grudge baby? Well Lydia is giving out some high pitched cat sounding squeals these days! Just put some dark eyeliner around the eyes and she could definitely be mistaken as a scary grudge baby... hehe

Awwww she is so sweet! And I'm with Gary. That Grudge kid is horrid. I used to change the channel when the commercial came on. Then my friend would call me on the phone and do that noise. Ehhhhh. Lydia definitely sounds a bit scarey there for a minute. Good thing she is so darn cute! :-)
